The novel in my mind that showcases the trials and tribulations of moving off the grid for an early retirement for myself as a born and raised city girl. Madly in love with a disabled veteran with PTSD and a TBI, along with our six-month old son, we chose to leave the city behind and enjoy life full of experiences with living off the grid. I had very little wilderness living knowledge and becoming a stay-at-home mom at the same time was a whole life for me. I want the readers to feel as though they’ve been transported into my woods to walk in my boots for the laughs, tears, and entertainment of it all. This heavy-hearted story is based on my true-life events of leaving my 25-year corporate career behind and dive headfirst into primitive living. Living in the thick of the Ozarks of Arkansas, I gave up everything from power to running water. Most of my friends and family thought I was crazy for attempting to move to the woods because I was terrified of bugs and relied heavily on the frills of living in the city. When you add it all up and the life-long dream to live in a tiny cabin tucked into the deep woods, the adventure takes many twists and turns to delight and surprise you.
